Princeton-in-Munich – Summer 2019


Student Checklist for those attending PIM in June 2019.

Princeton-in-Munich, the Department’s summer program in Munich, Germany will take place from June 3 – June 28, 2019. Admission to the program is competitive and by application only.

Each year three courses are offered. These courses combine intensive language instruction at the Goethe Institut with seminars on literature and culture led by Senior Lecturer Adam Oberlin and Professor Johannes Wankhammer.

Courses Offered:

  • German 105G: Prerequisite GER 102 along with the instructor’s recommendation and an interview with Senior Lecturer Adam Oberlin
  • German 107G: Prerequisite Grade of B or better in GER 1025 and permission of GER 1025 instructor
  • German 317G Level Course: Prerequisite GER 107 or a 200 or 300 level course taught in German along with an instructor’s recommendation

The fee for 2019 is $2,900. It covers instructional costs and housing in Munich. (The fee does not include airfare.) If accepted in the program, the German Department will provide each student with a $1,000 to be used towards the cost of airfare. Additional funding is also available to students who receive financial aid through the Dean’s Fund for Study Abroad.
